There was one on a house opposite mine. At the time it was scary and I stayed inside but now I know a bit more I wouldn't be scared. Bees are at their most gentle when they swarm as they are full of honey and have no home to guard. <br /><br />I have looked at the sample of Home Farmer magazine on their website and it looks good. I have never been up close to...This is fascinating. I have never been up close to a beehive, though I have walked through a swarm in the middle of York City Centre.<br /><br />Have you come across Home Farmer Magazine? It always has at least one article in about beekeeping. The most recent edition (June) has two: one about spring honey and varroa levels (whatever that means) and the other about constructing a beehive.
